‘Home Free’ book

Home Free – Women’s journeys to safety from domestic violence

An 80 page collection of real stories written from conversations with Moya Sayer-Jones

What does it take to be #homefree?

Bonnie’s has been working for more than 40 years with women and children who are escaping domestic violence. With the support of a consortium of organisations, we have produced a new book of powerful stories about what it takes to leave domestic violence and be #homefree. This book is not about being trapped, it’s about finding freedom.

What’s special about this book?

Bonnies worked with a team of writers and visual artists to produce a book that simply cannot be put down. Home Free is beautiful, touching and dramatic. It shares inspiring, first hand accounts from a diverse group of women who represent many different background and situations: old and young; well off and struggling; Christian, Muslim and undecided.

Watch the following little video about Home Free, made by a group of social work students from the Australian Catholic University. It discusses domestic violence, homelessness, and our book Home Free. It also has many contact details and info on how to reach out for support if you are experiencing domestic violence.
